German Football manager and former centre-forward Uwe Rösler has many teams under his belt, including Manchester City, East Germany and Leeds United. His club career began in the late eighties where he played with a myriad of clubs in his native East Germany.

In 1994, he joined Manchester City on trial, and his excellent goal scoring record (five goals in twelve games) saw the move become a permanent one before the end of the season. In the same season, he scored four goals in an FA Cup match against Notts County, becoming the first City player to score four on an FA Cup tie since Johnny Hart in 1953. During his time with Manchester City, he was the leading goal scorer for three consecutive seasons (1994-95 to 1996-97). He was admitted to Manchester City’s Hall of Fame in 2009, and scored a total of 64 goals in 176 games during his time with the club.

He returned to Germany in 1998 and joined reigning champions Kaiserslautern, and was instrumental in helping them to win their group in the 1998-99 UEFA Champions League, after a second-half hat trick against HJK Helsinki saw them scoop a 5-2 win. He also played for Southampton and Lillestrøm before embarking on a managerial career in 2005.

Uwe Rösler stayed with Lillestrøm as a manager, leading them to two fourth place finishes in the league, and to the final of the Norwegian Cup (2005) and the Royal League final (2006). Subsequently, he went on to manage both Wigan Athletic and Leeds United. He currently manages Malmo FF after a 2.5 year deal was signed in 2018.
