Formed in 1889, Sheffield United currently play in the Championship league (although they spent brief periods in the Premier League, from 1992-1994 and again in the 2006-07 season). Their home games are played at Bramall Lane. Achievements throughout the years include four FA Cup wins (1899, 1902, 1915, 1925), two times reaching the FA Cup Final (1901, 1936) and five times reaching the semi-finals (1961, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2014). They also reached the semi-finals of the League Cup in both 2003 and 2015. Their 2017 League One Title made them the fourth English club to win all four top tiers of English football.

Sheffield United’s Captain since 2016, Billy Sharp has played on-and-off as a striker for the team since 2004. He scored twice in the 2008-9 FA Cup tournament, including a goal against Hull City during a fifth round replay. In the 2015-16 season, Billy Sharp averaged more than one goal for every two matches played – in total he scored 21 goals in 39 games. On New Years’ Day 2019, he scored his 220th goal against Wigan Athletic and broke the record previously held by Rickie Lambert, to become the leading English-born goal scorer of the 21st century.
