Tomos Shanklin
Authentic Signed Tom Shanklin Photos, Framed & Mounted Displays
Former Welsh Rugby Union player Tom Shanklin was an outside-centre and wing who played for Cardiff Blues and Wales. He made his debut for Wales in 2001, in the Six Nations Championships against France. In the summer of 2001, Tom Shanklin toured Japan with Wales and scored two tries in the second test in Tokyo. In the 2004 Autumn internationals, he scored eight tries in four games, including four against Romania and Wales’ first try of the tournament against New Zealand. He was part of the team that saw Wales win the 2005 Grand Slam against Ireland. Outstanding form saw him selected for the 2007 Rugby World Cup line-up for Wales.
Throughout his career, he won 70 caps for Wales and scored 20 tries, placing him equal 5th on the list of record try-scorers for Wales. His 50th cap was a win against Italy at the Millenium Stadium (2008); he walked out first and classes this as his favourite memory of his career.
In 2003, he joined the Cardiff Blues team, where he stayed until 2011, making 114 appearances overall. Previously he had been part of the Saracens and London Welsh teams.
