Patti LuPone is well renowned in the world of theatre for her work in stage musicals and was one of the original members of The Acting Company. She made her Broadway debut in Three Sisters in 1973 and went from strength to strength, In 1979, she played starring role Eva_Perón in the Broadway production of Evita, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. 

Her role as Fantine in Les Misérables was premiered in the Barbican Theatre in 1985, and the role saw her scoop the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in the same year.

Other notable stage performances include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Rose in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy, and she also starred in TV drama Life Goes On from 1989-1993. She also performs regularly in her solo shows Matters of the Heart: Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda and The Lady with the Torch. In total, she has won two Grammy Awards, two Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards.

Most recently, Patti LuPone starred as Florence Seward in Showcase and Sky’s Penny Dreadful, a British-American horror-drama series in wich a group unite to combat supernatural threats in Victorian London. She played an psychiatrist treating the medium, Vanessa Ives and her character was a regular feature of the third series.
