Authentic Signed Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) Photos, Framed & Mounted Displays
Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim is known for popularizing the big beat genre in the 1990s. He was the bassist for The Housemartins in the 1980s, and they saw the widely popular single ‘Caravan of Love’ rise to number one in the UK charts in 1986. Their hit ‘Happy Hour’ reached the top ten, as did their two albums. When The Housemartins split in 1988, Norman Cook went it alone and formed three groups in the late eighties; Beats International, Freak Power and The Mighty Dub Katz. He adopted the alias ‘Pizzaman’ in 1995 and the album produced three top 40 hits. One of them, ‘Happiness’, was picked up by Del Monte for use in their advertisement campaign.
From 1996-2008, Norman Cook adopted the pseudonym Fatboy Slim, and had several top 40 hits, including ‘The Rockafeller Skank’ and ‘Praise You’, the latter of which was Norman Cook’s first UK number one. In 1999, he won three awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, including the award for Breakthrough Video. In 2000, his album Halfway Between The Gutter and the Stars featured two collaborations with Macy Gray and the popular song ‘Weapon of Choice’ which won six awards at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. His greatest hits album, ‘Why Try Harder’ was released in 2006 and contained ten of his previous Top 40 singles.
In 2012, Norman Cook performed at the 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony, and 2013 saw the return of Fatboy Slim after seven years, with his song ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’ topping the UK dance chart.
