Kathleen Turner is an American stage and film actress, known for her distinctive husky voice.  She initially rose to fame for her roles in films called Body Heat in 1981 and the Man with Two Brains in 1983.   She has won two Golden Globe Awards for her roles in Romancing the Stone and Prizzi’s Honor.  Kathleen has also had roles in The Accidental Tourist and in 1989 she starred in the War of the Roses, a dark comedy film, along with Michael Douglas and Danny de Vito. She has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her appearance in Peggy Sue Got Married. Kathleen has also worked in the theatre and has been nominated for the Tony Award twice for her Broadway roles as Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and as Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
