Joe Dante is an American film director, producer and actor who originally was more interested in becoming a cartoonist. He began his film career working for Roger Corman and worked as an editor on “Grand Theft Auto”, an American comedy road movie.

Joe Dante is most well known for being the director of “Gremlins”, a comedy horror film about a young man who gets a strange creature called mogwai as a pet, with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the gang of gremlins decide to then tear up the town. There is also a Gremlins 2: The New Batch which was made in 1990.

Joe Dante has continued to direct films working with Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
