Jimmy Frost
Authentic Signed Jimmy Frost Photos, Framed & Mounted Displays
Retired jockey and Grand National winner Jimmy Frost has been racing since childhood. He rode his first winner at the age of 14, at Lemalla in Cornwall (1972), becoming the youngest jockey ever to ride a point-to-point winner. His first racing success under rules came just two years later at Taunton. In the 1989 Grand National, he rode Little Polvier to victory in 10 minutes and 6.9 seconds. This was Little Polvier’s fourth Grand National, and despite odds of 28/1 and failing to finish in the previous two Grand Nationals, he beat favourites such as Dixton House and Durham Edition to the winner’s post, riding a total distance of 7 lengths.
During a career spanning 30 years, Jimmy Frost rode over 500 winners including the 1991 Champion Hurdle on Morley Street. He also rode to victory twice in the Breeders Cup Chase in Maryland. He now runs The Frost Racing Club with his daughter Bryony Frost, a family-run racing club where members can have shared ownership of racehorses,. He also wrote an autobiographical book, ‘Touched by Frost’, which was published in 2003
