James Martin

James Martin is a British chef and television presenter, best known for presenting the BBC cookery series Saturday Kitchen from 2006 until 2016.
He started his career in France and then moved to the 3 Michelin star restaurant, Maison Troisgros in Roanne, in France. He then moved to work in Anthony Worrall Thompson's restaurant in London and later moved on to a 2 Michelin star hotel in Mayfair, London.
His first appearance on television was in 1996 when he appeared in Ready Steady Cook and the Big Breakfast. He co-presented BBC Foods Stately Suppers and then appeared in Richard and Judy Show where he visited people at home who had been nominated to be cooked a meal. He has been a judge in Blue Peter Junior Chef and since then has co-hosted and presented many T.V.series. He was asked to revamp the menu and catering facilities at Scarborough General Hospital for the BBC show Operation Hospital Food which resulted in a second and third series.
He presented a one-off special on BBC 2 interviewing Sir Jackie Stewart whilst they both drove through the Alps in a De Tomaso Pantera supercar.
Martin also presented United Cakes of America, over 15 episodes, which saw him travel 634 miles along America's East Coast, sampling 234 cakes and five bags of pretzels. He has also been on the judging panel of The Roux Scholarship along with Rick Stein and Raymond Blanc and has guest presented This Morning Show on a Friday.
He is currently presenting his own show every weekday afternoon, James Martin's French Adventure returning to the place where he began his career. This is to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of his old friend Keith Floyd's trip around France, even buying Keith's old Citroen car, travelling in his footsteps.
