Jack Deam is an English actor most famous for his portrayal of enthusiastic detective Inspector Mallory in detective period drama Father Brown. He joined the cast in 2016 in the show’s fourth series, and is still with the show at present. Father Brown is the third-longest running daytime BBC drama, and is centred around a crime solving Roman Catholic priest.

Prior to this, Jack Deam played the role of Marty Fisher in Shameless, the popular TV series set on a Manchester council estate from 2004-2013. The character suffered from Tourettes syndrome and was a pyromaniac who would often set things alight when angry. He starred in the show from the first series through to its’ last, but he was not present in series 5-7. 

He was also a regular on DCI Banks, the prime-time ITV detective drama, from 2010-2016. He played DC Ken Blackstone in 32 episodes overall. Other notable appearances include Queer As Folk (1999) and Jack Deam also starred as Phil Simmonds on Coronation Street, during which time he played hard-hitting scenes with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).
