Ben Stokes is an all-rounder who came through the ranks at Durham, breaking in to the England One Day side in 2011. His combative bowling and aggressive batting have earned him comparisons with Ian Botham and Freddie Flintoff.

Ben Stokes made his Test debut in 2013, in the 2nd Ashes test at Adelaide, and his first wicket was that of Michael Clarke in peak form. He hit his first Test century the next match at Perth. Ben Stokes performed well either with bat or ball, or athletically in the field in following matches, but put all three disciplines together in a man of the match performance against New Zealand at Lords in 2015, scoring 92 and 110 and helping to secure England’s win.

In the 2015-16 tour of South Africa at Newlands, he smashed 258 from 198 balls, breaking Test records for the highest score batting at 6, and the highest sixth wicket partnership (399).

More recently he tore through the West Indies at Lords in 2017 with 6-22, his best Test bowling figures so far. He made his ODI debut in 2011 and has to date scored two centuries. He also features in the T20 side, and his ability in the shortest format of the sport has seen him go for big money in the IPL, auctioning for £1.7 million on two occasions. He backed up his price tag with a devastating 103* from 63 balls for Pune in 2017.
