Ben Mee began his footballing and defending career with Manchester City in 2008, where he played in a League Cup match for them before going on loan to both Leicester City (2011) and Burnley (2011-2012). After he impressed Burnley manager Eddie Howe (he got his first clean sheet for Burnley in 2011 without letting an opponent score, resulting in a 4-0 win against Ipswich Town), Ben Mee was signed for Burnley on a three-and-a-half year contract. Shortly afterwards, during a match against Reading, Ben Mee used his head to make a tremendous clearance, blocking a Noel Hunt shot and conceding what would have been Reading’s second goal of the match.

His highlights include playing a vital role as a left-back position in the club’s promotion to Premier League in the 2013-14 season and again in the 2015-16 season, making 7 FA Cup appearances and 10 League Cup appearances overall. In total he has made 282 appearances for Burnley, scored 6 goals and assisted 11 more. His contract was extended in August 2018 until 2021 and he is currently said to be worth £9million.
