Anne Hegerty is one of the chasers on the popular ITV primetime game show The Chase, which has been said to be one of the most successful ITV gameshows ever. Contestants compete against chasers such as Anne Hegerty to win a cash prize. She has been a part of the gameshow since 2010, where she adopts the persona of ‘The Governess’, and alongside this she is also a chaser on the Australian version of the show (2015-present). Anne Hegerty is ranked as the second amongst women in the World Quizzing Championships (55th overall) and has made appearances on a number of other quiz shows, including Mastermind, Fifteen To One and Brain of Britain. In November 2013 she competed in the Bolton Premier Quiz League to become Brain of Bolton for the second time.

She was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in 2005, and her 2018 appearance in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, let to her being praised for inspiring discussions of her autism, as she openly opened up to her camp mates about her struggles with social interactions. She finished 7th in the competition overall.

Since January 2018, Anne Hegerty has presented Britain’s Brightest Family on ITV, a quiz show where families answer logic and general knowledge questions to beat other families to the title.
