Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar joined the cast in 2012 as Superintendent Ted Hastings, and the BBC thriller quickly became BBC Two’s best-performing drama series in ten years. The premise of the show is an Anti-Corruption Unit of a police department and sees boss Ted Hastings, along with his two colleagues, solve crimes based around police corruption. The show has spanned five successful series so far, with series 6 currently filming.

Line of Duty is the most popular drama series on BBC Two in the multi-channel era and has won both a Royal Television Award and Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Drama Series. In 2018 Adrian Dunbar received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Line of Duty.

Despite being most famous of Line of Duty, Adrian Dunbar has been around since long before its’ inception. He has starred in films such as Star Wars Episode 1 (1999), and many popular TV shows. He played Martin Summers in Ashes to Ashes (2009), a police drama series and sequel to Life on Mars. He has also starred in one-off episodes of crime / police dramas such as Inspector Morse, Silent Witness and A Touch of Frost.
