Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter.  She achieved moderate success in the late 1970’s as part of the new wave band The Tourists and then went on to achieve international success  in the Eurythmics.  She has eight Brit Awards including being named Best British Female Artist six times.  She has been named the Brits Champion of Champions. 

She went on to her solo career in 1992 producing her debut album Diva with hit single Walking on Broken Glass.  She also has four Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.  In 2004 she won the Golden Globe and the Academy Award for best original song for Into the West which was written for the soundtrack to the feature film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.  In June 2012 she performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and also performed the song Little Bird during the 2012 Olympic closing ceremony in London.
