Raymond Blanc
Authentic Signed Raymond Blanc Photos, Framed & Mounted Displays
Renowned French chef Raymond Blanc is know as one of Britain’s most respected chefs. He is the chef patron at 2 Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons in Oxfordshire, yet he is, for the most part, self-taught, as the son of influential Maman Blanc. Not only that, he has trained some of the country’s top chefs including Heston Blumenthal, Marco Pierre-White and Michael Caines.
He completed his training in Paris, at the Michelin-starred Le Palais de la Bière, and in 1977 he struck out on his own for the first time, working under André Chavagnon in Oxford. However, in the same year, Raymond Blanc opened his own restaurant which became an overnight success. Les Quat' Saisons won Egon Ronay Guide Restaurant of the Year and two Michelin stars. His restaurant career went from strength to strength and he opened the first La Maison Blanc in 1981; a chain which now has 14 branches in total. In 1983, he opened Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, which is now his most sought after-resturant, boasting 5 AA stars and known as one of the ultimate gastronomic destinations in the country.
As well as appearing on popular shows such as Saturday Kitchen (2007) and Masterchef (1990, 1991, 1992, 1995, 1998), Raymond Blanc hosted his own series The Restaurant, which ran from 2007-09, in which couples competed to try and win their own restaurant. In March 2013, Raymond Blanc worked with Boris Johnson on a scheme to help young people into the food and hospitality industry, providing his Brasserie Blanc restaurants with 21 apprentices.
