Peter Cormack is best known for his footballing success with Liverpool FC. His time at the club saw him make 178 appearances and scoring 26 goals. During his time with Liverpool, he won two League Championships, one FA Cup and two UEFA Cup medals.

He signed for Bill Shankly’s Liverpool in 1972 and scored his first goal two weeks later in a 4-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. His first season saw Liverpool win their first trophies of the decade; the League Championship and the UEFA Cup. In the League semi-final, he scored two minutes into the game and contributed to a 2-0 win that saw Liverpool finish ahead of Leeds and Arsenal and win the title. In the same season, Peter Cormack and Liverpool won the UEFA Cup Final in a 3-2 win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Peter Cormack went from strength to strength and was an integral player in central midfield in the 1974 FA Cup. He played in all eight games of the FA Cup and Liverpool beat Newcastle United 3-0 in the final, winning the trophy.

In the 1975-76 season, Liverpool won the League and UEFA double again, and Peter Cormack was a regular League starter. He played both legs in the UEFA Cup first round, which Liverpool won 3-2 against Peter Cormack’s former club, Hibernian.

His time with Liverpool came to an end in 1976, and he played for Bristol City and Hibernian before branching out into football management.
