England Rugby Union player Owen Farrell previously held the record for being the youngest player ever to appear in English professional Rugby Union after playing for Saracens just 11 days after his 17th birthday. His career grew from there and his still plays for Saracens, as well as the England national team.
He made his England debut in the 2012 Six Nations Championships, finishing with 63 points from 5 games. In the same year, he helped England to a record-breaking victory by scoring 17 points against All Blacks. In 2016, he was nominated for the second time for the 2016 World Player of the Year Award after England’s Six Nations win. They retained this streak in 2017, becoming Six Nations Champions once again.
Farrell has been called up to the British and Irish Lions for two tours. In 2013 he played in two tour matches and came off the bench in the last Test against South Africa. In 2017 with more experience under his belt, he was crucial in the Lions drawing a thrilling series with New Zealand. With the scores level three minutes before the end of the second test, Farrell kicked over the winning penalty to win it 24-21 - the All Blacks' first home defeat in 8 years. In the decider, he kicked 4 out of 4 penalties in the nail biting 15-15 draw.
