Lee Ingleby is well known for his role as Stan Shunpike in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004). Stan is the conductor of the Knight Bus that Harry uses to travel to London. The film won BAFTAS in both 2004 and 2005, and was nominated for an Oscar in 2005. Before joining the Harry Potter cast, he starred in primetime television shows such as The Bill (1998), Jonathan Creek (2000) and Fat Friends (2002). He was also part of the cast of the Russell Crowe movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World; he played Hollom and the film was nominated for ten Oscars in total.

From 2007-2017, Lee Ingleby played Detective Sergeant John Baccus in Inspector George Gently; one of the main characters in the show alongside Martin Shaw’s Inspector. The show ran for eight seasons on BBC One, and Lee Ingelby was prominent in each series.

In 2016, Lee Ingleby was cast as one of the lead characters of The A Word, a widely popular BBC drama that depicted life for a family living with an autistic child; Lee Ingleby plays the family patriarch, Paul Hughes. The show has run for two series so far.
