Lee Evans, one of Britain’s best loved comedians, rose to fame in the 1990s with his energetic performances, which led to him winning the Perrier Comedy Award for his work at the Edinburgh Festival in 1993. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength with his observational comedy and slapstick humour.

In November 2005, Lee Evans broke the world record for a solo act for performing to the biggest comedy audience at Manchester Arena – 10,108 turned out to see his performance. He was the second comedian to ever perform at London’s O2 Arena with his stand-up tour ‘Big’ (2008), and on that tour he was viewed by over half a million people on 59 dates. The DVD of the show became the best-selling comedy DVD in the UK for Christmas 2008. His ‘Roadrunner’ tour in 2011 sold £7million worth of tickets the day they went on sale, and extra dates were announced due to popularity. Due to this success, he was honoured at the British Comedy Awards by Channel 4 in the same year, for special contribution to comedy.

He has also starred in a number of TV shows and Hollywood films, such as his 1995 Channel 4 series, ‘The World of Lee Evans’, ‘There’s Something About Mary’ (1998), and the voice of Zippo in ‘The Magic Roundabout’ (2005).
