Olivier Award winning actress Celia Imrie has been described as one of the most successful British actresses of recent decades. She has had starring roles in many blockbuster hits including Madge Hardcastle in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel films (2011, 2015) Una in the Bridget Jones films (2001-2016), Mrs. Selma Quickly in Nanny McPhee (2005) and Claudia Bing in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie in 2016 (she also starred in the TV series of the same name). She was part of the main cast in Calendar Girls (2003). Celia Imrie has also dabbled in theatre and in 2006 she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Supporting Performance in a Musical for Acorn Antiques: The Musical!

Before her film career came a television career – from 2000 onwards she starred in many BBC shows including a one-off episode of Doctor Who (2013). She has frequently collaborated with Victoria Wood, most notably the sitcom dinnerladies and the sketch show Victoria Wood: As Seen On TV. In 2018 she landed a top 40 single with Lily James for her song in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again ‘When I Kissed The Teacher’, where she played Donna’s teacher. Most recently, she played Mrs Green in the Netflix horror film Malevolent. At the Women in Film and TV Awards in 2017, she won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
