TV gardening personality Charlie Dimmock rose to fame in 1997 with Ground Force, which she co-presented with Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh for the eight years the show ran. Ground Force was a popular BBC gardening makeover programme which sees the team of gardeners re-design the garden of a member of the public. At its’ peak, the series attracted 12 million viewers and in 200-01 Ground Force won the TV Quick Award for Best Lifestyle show for 2 years running. The show was also nominated for a BAFTA and an NTA in the year 2000.

After Ground Force ceased production, she presented a series called River Walks, which involved her walking around various rivers, meeting the locals and discussing landmarks and attractions around the area.

Until 2008, Charlie Dimmock wrote a weekly gardening column for the Mail on Sunday. She has also presented Charlie’s Wildlife Gardens (2000), The Joy of Gardening and Charlie’s Garden Army. Charlie Dimmock has appeared on reality shows such as Channel 4’s The Games (2004) and BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef (2006).

In 2016, she started co-presenting Garden Rescue with David and Harry Rich; a series where Charlie Dimmock and the Rich brothers compete to design gardens for homeowners around the country. To date, the show is still running.

Charlie Dimmock has written a series of successful gardening books, such as Ground Force (1999), Charlie’s Enjoy Your Garden (2001) and Ground Force: Container Gardening (2002) amongst other titles.
