David Tennant

David Tennant, well known for his roles as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who and as Barty Crouch Jr in the Harry Potter series, was born in Bathgate, West Lothian in 1971. Having expressed an interest in drama from an early age, he has undertaken many roles; including screen acting, stage acting, and voice acting, many of which roles expanded, through the mediums of Radio and TV acting, upon his popular character portrayals of iconic characters such as The Doctor. Tennant is also a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, recognisable for his role as Hamlet in the eponymous play, as well as other classic Shakespearian roles such as Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and Richard II in the play of the same name. His acting has led him to multiple awards, such as Most Popular actor in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010; and his ranking as 6th most influential person in the British media in December 2005. Since then, Tennant’s work has taken him beyond television acting into online shows – and, as of 2015, he plays Zebediah Kilgrave in the Netflix original series Jessica Jones, a show based on the iconic Marvel comics.
